Stonebroom.ASPointer©makes it easy to access and update XML,
HTML, XHTML, ASP and similarly-structured files directly on the server, without having to load them into a browser or other client application.
It is designed for use either with Microsoft® Active Server Pages© scripts, or as a stand-alone COM-compliant
ActiveX® DLL component. (Note that evaluation versions of the component can only be used within ASP). ASPointer offers a range
of file access options, based broadly on the proposed W3C XPointer language.

The ASPointer component exposes four custom methods that allow you to:
- Quickly and easily locate specific content in XML, HTML and ASP documents.
- Return single items, or multiple instances in a custom delimited string.
- Specify the target by element position, name or type, or attribute name or value.
- Return the entire element and content, just the content, or just the text.
- Select specific sections of the target using custom Span and String functions.
- Replace the target data with any new content, just as easily as reading it.
- Read the contents of selected <META> elements in HTML or ASP files.
- Retrieve a listing of files in any directory to make finding the target easier.
- Control access to specific features to protect your server from unwanted access.
- Easy to install and use, either in ASP or in your custom compiled applications.
- You can view the online documentation for ASPointer now.
| ASPointer is supplied with a simple-to-use installation program, and requires no special software to be installed
other than Active Server Pages© itself. It includes full documentation and a set of sample files that demonstrate how it can be used. |
