Stonebroom.RemoteZip© is what so many users have asked for. A complete full-featured ZIP file
manager that runs on the server but can be accessed and operated through any 3rd or 4th generation
Web browser (though for best results, we recommend the absolute positioning abilities of Internet Explorer 4 or higher). |
| Stonebroom.RemoteZip© allows you and your users
to perform zip and unzip operations, view and modify the contents of zip files, and get information about files - all from a browser
anywhere on the Web. It provides all the usual zip and unzip options, including: password encryption, update, freshen; selective file
add, extract and delete; recurse and restore sub-directories, and deletion of the original files once they have been zipped.
Of course, this exposes you site to risk from malicious users, so RemoteZip includes several layers of built-in security that can
be set by the administrator using a simple server-based interface. You can exclude or include specific paths, disable all zip and/or
unzip operations, or disable specific options such as deleting files or using encryption. Of course, being a Web-based application
(it requires Microsoft® Internet Information Server© and Active Server Pages© or the
equivalent on another platform), you can also use the built in security methods of the Web server and operating system as well. |
 |
RemoteZip provides almost all the features that you would expect from a normal client-based zip manager. For example it can display
information about zip archive files on the server, and even the individual files that the zip archive contains.
RemoteZip is available on-line now. If you would like to experiment with it on your own system you can obtain a copy of the 60-day
evaluation version free from our download page. |
